Day 1

For one of the most scenic drives on offer in the region, pack a BBQ lunch and make your way along Warlu Way, to Python Pool in the Millstream-Chichester National Park.

Hang out for morning tea and a swim at the iconic swimming hole, Python Pool. For the energetic take a hike up the Old Cameleers Track to a spectacular lookout.

Continue on down to Millstream for lunch at the old Homestead and take a walk along the wetland walking trail or a longer hike along the cliff lookout trail. Millstream is a photographer’s, bird watcher’s and swimmer’s delight.

Swim in the clear and wide Deep Reach Pool, a stunning section of the Fortescue River. Head back into Karratha before dusk to relax after an enjoyable day of activities.

Day 2

This morning, join an Aboriginal guided cultural walk at Ngajarli in Murujuga National Park, a site of 30,000 year old Aboriginal Petroglyphs where you will learn about bush tucker, dreamtime stories and the historical significance of the Burrup Peninsula.

Call into the North West Shelf Visitors Centre for an interactive virtual tour of the Pluto Gas plant.

Return to Karratha via the Rio Tinto Salt lookout, before enjoying lunch in town. Drop into the Karratha Tourism & Visitor Centre and jump on board a scenic helicopter flight over the Dampier Archipelago. Spot pods of orca, dolphins, dugongs, manta rays, turtles and other amazing marine life.

In the evening, enjoy a drink and dinner at one of our modern bars or restaurants.

Day 3

This morning head over to Dampier for a day cruising, swimming and snorkelling around the islands of the Dampier Archipelago. Visit Sam’s Island, enjoy whale watching or just relax.

After your cruise take a drive around Dampier visiting the Red Dog memorial, the railway bridge and William Dampier lookouts then enjoy a coffee or cold drink at one of the local cafes. Take a stroll along the new Dampier Foreshore development and enjoy the cool afternoon breezes.

Return to your accommodation and in the evening take a trip to our new craft brewery, North West Brewing Company, for dinner and a refreshing drink.

Day 4

Start your day with breakfast or a coffee at one of our many popular cafes, before heading to Roebourne for a visit to the Ganalili Centre and learn about the Yinjibarndi art & culture. Visit the restored heritage town of Cossack before a lunch of local fish & chips at Point Samson. Enjoy a swim at Honeymoon Cove, or hire snorkelling gear, a kayak or SUP from Point Samson Adventure sports before returning to Karratha.

This evening if the moon is full, grab a takeaway dinner from one of the local food vans at Dreamers Hill and head out to view the Staircase to the Moon at Hearson Cove. Witness this amazing natural phenomena, occurring on a full moon over tidal flats on the North West coastline.
