Stay For A Day
If you’ve only got a short time in Karratha we recommend you enjoy a guided cultural walk at Ngajarli in Murujuga National Park, a site of 30,000 year old Aboriginal Petroglyphs. Here you will learn about bush tucker, dreamtime stories and the historical significance of the Burrup Peninsula. Return to Karratha in time to enjoy lunch at one of Karratha’s many cafes.
Take in an elevated view of Karratha and surrounds from Karratha Lookout on your way to the Karratha Tourism & Visitor Centre. Once at the visitors centre, board a scenic helicopter flight to take you over the spectacular Dampier Archipelago. From the air, spot pods of orca, dolphins, dugongs, manta rays, turtles and other amazing marine life in the crystal waters. Your scenic flight will return you to the Karratha Tourism & Visitor Centre, where you can chat to one of our friendly staff about what’s on in the region and must see attractions.
In the evening, enjoy a drink and dinner at one of our modern bars or restaurants and be sure to check out the Red Earth Arts Precinct for any live theatre shows or movies screening.
